Fear wears many skins.
Deep within the Canadian wilderness, people have been disappearing for over a century. There is a place the locals call “the Devil’s Woods,” but to speak of it will only bring the devil to your door. It is a place so evil that even animals avoid it.
When their father’s expedition team goes missing, Kyle Elkheart and his brother and sister return to the abandoned Cree Indian reservation where they were born. Kyle can see ghosts that haunt the woods surrounding the village—and they seem to be trying to warn him. The search for their father will lead Kyle and his siblings to the dark heart of the legendary forest, where their mission will quickly become a fight for survival.

I have not read this book yet, but love the ease of the and receiving books this way. Thanks
Brian Moreland weaves taunt chilling Indian folklore tale here. Nice character development and the story moves along at a nice pace. Very enjoyable read
Very good story I was enjoying it all the way to the ending. I couldn't wait to see what would happen when I got to the ending but it just ended. What happened to everyone ??
As with all of his books, and I have read them all, he keep you reading from the first word until the last and you then find yourself looking for more. The Devil's Woods is a perfect blend of indigenous folklore and the supernatural all taking place in a modern setting.
His book allow for that perfect escapism that you look for at the end of a long day or when you have some down time on a rain or snowy day.
My only complaint is that it too long between books.
Very well-written. Action packed, but very creepy at times. Seemed well-researched and I loved learning new things about the Cree culture.
Definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good Native American supernatural story.

Another riveting, suspenseful read from Brian Moreland! He has a gift that not many writers have. His ability to draw you into his stories from the very beginning, to keep you turning the pages eagerly, and to leave you wanting and waiting to read his next work is truly amazing! I have been a lover of his works from the very start! WELL DONE BRIAN!
Brian Moreland has penned another winner. Tightly written and well-paced, this horror/mystery packs an emotional wallop along with the scares. Well-defined characters, realistic dialogue and a spectacular setting have this novel firing on all cylinders from Chapter 1. You won’t be camping by any lakes in Canada after finishing this book. You may not even take a walk in the woods behind your house. This novel is a worthy to successor to Mr. Moreland’s strong earlier works, SHADOWS IN THE MIST and DEAD OF WINTER. All three are must reads for the horror fan.
this book was GREAT! I read this as a group read for one of my book clubs. I', so glad I did! I haven't read a book this good in a long time. it's written very well and keeps you hooked. the characters are realistic and relatable. the woods & what lives there is scary as hell. cause if we've learnt anything else from horror movies it's you don't mess with native American legends (in this case First Nations). There were parts of this that really creeped me out and I had to stop reading (don't read before bed time!) I will definitely read more from Brian Moreland.
