I have found this book to be very helpful in making some simple foods. There is good advice for the new vegan. The negatives about this book are that there is no index at the back to look things up; there are no page numbers; and I have found numerous typos.Product details

The SoyFree Vegan GlutenFree SugarFree Cuisine Dawn Grey 9781460934975 Books Reviews
As other reviewers have stated, how can a soy-free cookbook include so many recipes with tamari (wheat free soy sauce???) I suppose one can try to substitute coconut aminos and add salt, but I haven't yet ventured into any of those recipes yet. Otherwise, it has a few recipes for cashew sour cream and the like that have potential.
I've recently started trying to trim my waistline and look into options that would fill me up without making me feel bloated or adding on weight. This book has been a g-dsend because it helps me to continue to my diet plan but still add in extra options that offer variety. If you aren't vegan but are looking for ways to lighten or brighten up your daily menus make sure to check out the other books in Dawn's series.
There is at least one recipe in this cookbook that calls for Tamari, which is a type of SOY SAUCE!!! It's gluten-free, but not soy-free. What's worse is that the specific recipe actually says it's soy-free at the top of the page. This might not be a big deal for those who are just cutting back on soy or those with allergies who check ingredients thoroughly, but I find it strange nonetheless. I have not purchased this item. I saw the aforementioned recipe using the "Look Inside This Book" feature on , so I'm wondering if there are other recipes in this cookbook that call for soy products.
I got this book because I have bought all of the author's other works and have been her client well before she began writing cookbooks.
Let me say that this book really opened my eyes.
As a vegan who became allergic to wheat, I relied on soy, soy, soy- soy cheese, soy milk, soy protein powder, tofu, and many packaged goods that also had soy. My diet was in soy overload and I felt better than I did when I was eating meat, certainly better than when I was eating wheat, but overall, somewhat sluggish.
I like how the author shares her own soy issues in the intro. It has only been a week since I got my copy and let me tell you, I feel amazing already. I am sleeping better, and honestly, not a hormonal. Soy has natural hormones in it, so a little may be good but alot, not so.
I like that she compiled this book from other books written- I do not need to flip through all her other books to avoid soy. I am not totally giving up soy, but what a difference cutting back has done for me.
I highly recommend this book, and yes, there is still plenty to eat if you are gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, and watching your sugar. There are recipes for desserts, pasta, cheesy things, and she directs you to looking out for the brands that will work.
However what I love most is her own recipe for soy-free sour cream and yogurt in the introduction section. It is nearly impossible to find soy-free vegan yogurt and it was easy to make.
I've been looking for a cookbook or a website that shares recipes for those of us who want to eat a vegan diet without relying too much on soy-based protein replacements! This book is a miracle. Thanks!
Good book, but I think I got a rejected copy because my book has absolutely no pages. Kind of hard to refer to the table of contents.
It was disappointing that nutritional information was not included and that highly processed ingredients were a part of many of the recipes. It was not helpful and had I been able to review the book more thoroughly, I would not have purchased it.
I have found this book to be very helpful in making some simple foods. There is good advice for the new vegan. The negatives about this book are that there is no index at the back to look things up; there are no page numbers; and I have found numerous typos.
